If you have perused the numerous shops on Harbour Island, you have probably stumbled across The Sugar Mill. If you haven’t paid them a visit yet, definitely put it on your to-do list.

Co-owned by India Hicks and Linda Griffin, the Sugar Mill was actually a functioning sugar mill circa 1925. Opened in November 2005 and just recently celebrating their 10 year anniversary, Linda and India’s original vision of offering a boutique shop filled with global treasures for all ages and even 4-legged friends, is still very much alive today.

I asked Linda Griffin to fill us in on what to expect when walking through the doors this season.

Q. What kinds of treasures can we expect to find at The Sugar Mill?

A. Swimwear collections from designers such as, Melissa Odabash, Zimmerman and Onde de Mar. You will always find treasures for every season from Day Birger et Mikkelsen and cotton kaftans from Roberta Freymann. Don’t leave the island without our iconic Harbour Island Spirit Football Jersey, an exclusive to The Sugar Mill!

A. This season’s must have item is a signature India Hicks Carmen clutch. Soft supple leather in a choice of 4 colors that will take you from a lunch date to evening cocktails in style.
