Coral Sands Hotel, Harbour Island

Major renovation

The Coral Sands Hotel, built in 1950’s, underwent a major renovation to the main building. Renovation included demolition of entire top floor; originally 9 suites built of reinforced concrete. They were replaced with 12 well-appointed timber-frame suites. Renovation also included a major revamp of the main floor lobby and an extension of the restaurant dining room, two wells were drilled alongside a new RO plant and as well as a 1000 sqft wood structure for a gift shop.

Acting as Project Manager and Owner’s Representative, Mark Moyle’s priority is overseeing that construction moved quickly and efficiently. Arranging the on-time arrival of supplies, equipment and labor is essential, as well as quality control and communication with the architect, engineer, client, Bahamas Ministry of Works, shipping agents, vendors and suppliers.

Phase 1 to open the lobby & restaurant for peak holiday season was completed on time. Phase 2 hotel suites were scheduled to be completed in June 2015 but were completed early and rooms were opened to guests on 1st March 2015.
